The ring gold with detailed carving of a buckle and leaf and hatch marks on the band.  It  is hallmarked Victorian, circa 1870 and with the Birmingham England anchor.  Buckle rings were a recognized symbol of love and devotion in Victorian times, given as a symbol of "I am bound to you". The ring  is size UK L/6 USA and weighs 2.4 grams.
